God desires to be worshiped in spirit and in truth. To worship in truth, one must have truth in them. God says in Psalm 51:6 that He desires the truth in our inward parts.

Psalm 51:6 (NKJV) Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts

What does it mean to have truth in the inward parts? First, we need to answer another question; What are the inward parts?

The inward part of a person’s soul that would contain the truth is the place where they hold what is dearest to them. And that part of the soul is not our mind, or even the parts of our heart where we store the other things we love, but it is the innermost and the largest part of our heart where we store what we value the most. So, in summary, our innermost part is the deepest part of our heart where we store our greatest treasures.

What does that really mean in terms of real life? Well, it means what we value the most will affect everything we believe in and will be the strongest factor in our decision making of the choices we make in life. The best example of this is when Jesus said, “You cannot serve God and mammon.” Matthew 6:24 and Luke 16:13 (Money or material things are also a demonic principality)If we love money more than God, money will have the greatest control over our lives and the choices that we make. This does not mean we have no value for the other, but the one is our true love, and when put to the test, what we love the most will come out.

In short, to have truth in our inner parts, our inner heart, we must love truth the most, no matter the cost or consequences. To worship God in truth and spirit we must love the truth the most. And this makes perfect sense because Jesus is the Truth, and He is God, and we are called to love Him with all our heart, soul, mind and strength!

Mark 12:30 (NKJV) "And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength." This is the first commandment.

As an example of one who knows the most, and knows the truth, but has no truth in him, I asked the Lord, “How can the devil know all the truth of Scripture but have no truth in him?” The Lord answered, “Because he does not believe the truth.”

As I previous said, you believe what you value, what you love, the most. Which means the devil has no value, no love, for the truth. In fact, he hates the truth! Therefore, he cannot believe the truth. The devil only loves himself! His great pride and his self-love are what led to his fall!

Had the devil really believed the truth, he would have never rebelled against the Almighty. If he believed it now, he would likely stop fighting knowing there was absolutely no way he could win. And the more he fights, the greater his punishment is. The devil is a liar, and the father of it, and since he is the greatest deceiver its stands to perfect reason that he is the most deceived—still holding to great deception that he will still win against God!
